Egg donation (or “Ovum donation”) is a fertility choice for women who are unable to produce viable eggs. Eggs are retrieved from an Egg Donor and fertilized in a petri dish with sperm from the Intended Father or from a sperm donor. A few days later, the best embryos are transferred into the Intended Mother or surrogate’s uterus. The remaining embryos are frozen for future use, in case there is no pregnancy, or the Intended Parents want a second child genetically related to the first.
Our Egg Donor Program has been in operation since 1995 and we have had excellent rates of success. We strive to have a large variety of Donor candidates of different ethnicities, cultural backgrounds and physical characteristics. As part of our screening process, we meet with all of our Donor candidates personally, review their submitted materials, and educate them about the process. We provide Intended Parents with the Donor's philosophy in her own words and handwriting, as well as the Donor's self-reported medical, social and family history.
Donors are compensated for pain and suffering. Because selling genetic material is not legal, Donor compensation is not determined by personal characteristics or educational background.
We locate a wide selection of Donor candidates, plan a meeting between Donor and Intended Parents (or act as a go-between should you wish to remain anonymous), arrange the psychological evaluation of your selected Donor, coordinate the medical screening, negotiate and draft the contract on your behalf, purchase catastrophic medical insurance for both Donor and Recipient, and, as a courtesy, administer the escrow account.
We support you through the entire process, from your initial inquiry to the birth of your baby!
Please call us at (925) 945-1880 to receive an Intended Parent Questionnaire or download the questionnaire. You can also reach us by e-mail at info@familyformation.com.
After we receive your completed questionnaire, we will issue you a user name and password so you may access our Book of Donors online, where you will find Donor photographs and information.
